Estate Planning

One of the best things you can do for your family and loved ones is to have your estate planning in order.

Planning for Non-married Partners

If you are not married to your partner, but would like to:

  • leave property to your partner at death
  • have your partner make medical decisions for you if you are unable
  • have your partner make financial decisions for you if you are unable, or
  • have your partner make burial decisions for you if you are unable;

you must prepare estate planning documents. The law allows spouses to do all of these things automatically.  The law does not allow domestic partners to do these things automatically.
