John Eckelberry
|
John, a local boy,
graduated from Kent Denver High School in Cherry Hills, Colorado, in 1991.
Then he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in history from the University
of Colorado at Boulder in 1994. While at CU, John was a member of the Golden
Key National Honor Society.
John later
attended the University of Denver College of Law and received his Juris
Doctor Degree in 1998. John initially practiced with his father, Robert, a
long time, local, general practice attorney in Littleton. In addition to
family law, John got a crash course in many other areas of the law,
including real estate, bankruptcy, personal injury, employment,
landlord/tenant, estate planning, business, criminal, and contract. This
experience has greatly aided John in the practice of family law, which
requires a broad range of competence in many areas of the law.
From May 2001
to May 2005, John had a priceless experience being mentored by some of the
best in the business while an associate with the Lakewood family law firm of
Polidori, Franklin, and Monahan, L.L.C. John joined forces with Kim in 2005
to form Willoughby & Eckelberry LLC.
During his
almost ten
years of practice, John has personally handled more than 300 family law
cases.

John was an
editor for the Domestic Relations Law & Orders Bench Book, released in 2006.

John is
presently a member of the Executive Council of the Family Law Section of the
Colorado Bar Association, currently co-chairing the mentor and membership
committees. In addition, John is a member of the Denver, Arapahoe, and
Jefferson County Bar Associations.
